About the role

Teacher Aide, under Mabuhay-Montessori School Inc. reporting to the Lead Toddler Teacher and School Administrator (with oversight from the Executive Director). Working under the Lead Teacher's supervision, the aide helps establish and maintain a quality Montessori educational program — supporting classroom teaching, preparing and caring for materials, safeguarding the children's safety and well-being, keeping accurate records, and maintaining close communication with the teaching team and parents. Internal stakeholders are all Head Office departments; external stakeholders are clients, students, and partners.

Responsibilities

Classroom teaching & support

  • Help teach and supervise students in the Montessori Method and curriculum across academic and specialty areas
  • Prepare classroom materials and keep them clean and in good repair
  • Follow the classroom schedule set by the Lead Teacher, with fair distribution of responsibilities
  • Assist and guide substitute teachers, and alert the Lead Teacher/Administrator if they need more support

Child safety & well-being

  • Be responsible for the safety and physical well-being of all students in your charge at all times
  • Report all accidents or incidents immediately, with a written report stating date, time, nature, and action taken
  • Report any unexplained injuries or suspected child abuse to the Director
  • Maintain current CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration training

Lesson planning & records

  • Prepare weekly lesson plans and record students' progress daily; review plans with the Lead Teacher and help write the weekly summary
  • Assist with ongoing school reports, end-of-year summaries, and reports for outside-agency evaluations
  • Help maintain current records (communication logs, conference summaries, observation notes) and record classroom observations using the school's system — keeping all records confidential

Communication & meetings

  • Address parent, team, and child issues promptly; maintain ongoing communication with team members
  • Attend staff and parent meetings as directed; share weekly staff-meeting information with the team
  • Relay any parent-provided information to the Lead Teacher; assist in checking classroom emails and phone messages
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing for and participating in parent conferences (at least twice per school year, including evening conferences)

Professional conduct & compliance

  • Demonstrate professional, appropriate behavior in and around the school; be proactive when others are not
  • Show emotional maturity and stability and relate joyfully to children
  • Assist in the cleanliness and maintenance of the classroom and shared spaces
  • Follow all school policies and the Employee Handbook, Montessori AMS standards, and DepEd, DOH, and other relevant Philippine regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the School Administrator, Executives, or Directors

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Needs Education, or a related field
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching kindergarten, grade school, or students with special needs; Montessori teaching experience is an advantage but not required
