Accounting Head
About the role
Accounting Head, under the Accounting Department, reporting to the Finance Head, and supervising the General Accounting Specialists, Branch Accounting Specialists, Analyst, Disbursing Officer, Liaison, and Fleet Division. The role plans, implements, and supervises the company's financial strategy — overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining the organization's economic stability. Internal stakeholders include top management, executives, Admin, Operations, HR, IT, and Audit; external stakeholders include external auditors, BIR, banks and financial institutions, SEC, LGUs, business partners and investors, and contractors and suppliers.
Responsibilities
Financial strategy & advisory
- Plan, implement, and supervise the company's overall financial strategy, aligned with organizational goals
- Serve as a key financial advisor to senior management through data-driven financial analysis
- Contribute to the overall business financial strategy
Budgeting, forecasting & cash management
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting, ensuring realistic projections and close variance monitoring
- Monitor and manage financial accounts, payroll, budget, cash receipts, and company assets
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity, forecast future cash requirements, and advise on maintaining a healthy financial position
Financial reporting & analysis
- Ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Prepare and submit weekly financial snapshots (cash flow, receivables/payables) and comprehensive monthly reports by the 10th (financial highlights, variance analysis, budget alignment, performance summary)
- Analyze trends and variances to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
Transactions, reconciliation & debt
- Handle financial transactions, manage company debts, and ensure timely account reconciliations
Audit, compliance, controls & governance
- Perform and oversee internal audits and coordinate with external auditors
- Maintain accurate, organized financial records and continuous audit readiness per regulatory/audit standards
- Develop, implement, and update accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; maintain strong governance and internal controls
- Coordinate with Corporate Affairs on tax reporting/compliance; work with the HR Head and CAO on labor-law compliance and risk mitigation
Systems & digital transformation
- Provide oversight and accountability for the accounting system; validate system-generated reports for accuracy and standards compliance
- Collaborate with IT/System Development to optimize workflows and recommend improvements; support system training and adoption
- Generate financial dashboards and customized reports; oversee technology implementation, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making
Performance & cost optimization
- Develop and track KPIs for operational efficiency and organizational effectiveness; establish and track department performance indicators
- Analyze financial data to identify cost savings, optimize processes, and improve profitability
Leadership, culture & stakeholders
- Lead, manage, and mentor the accounting team; promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, business partners, regulators, vendors, and suppliers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy; CPA required; Master's degree an advantage
- Experience: 5–7 years in accounting leadership, preferably in a diversified business setup
